I thought I saw our lost cat the other day! He's been missing since April! Most people would assume he got killed or taken to the Humane Society or something, and really, I thought he may have ended up at the pound also and we even checked there as well as at adoption sites. I put up flyers, left out food, left out a shirt with my scent on it hoping that would draw him back. I think the food drew other cats but that was okay. I don't mind feeding them, and some of my cats that like to stay outside unless its too cold, preferred to eat out there anyhow.
So anyhow, I had seen this black and white cat running behind houses several blocks away when I was driving by. The cat was too far away for me to see his face to tell if it was our cat or not. Our cat had a very distinct face because of the way his black markings were, it made his face look somewhat human-like, and the black mark on his nose made his nose look almost like a human nose. It might sound a little strange but he was a cute little guy and he'd be sure to come into my room at bedtime and 'say goodnight' to me and hang out a little bit until I fell asleep.
Well, I was driving down the same road the other day coming from McDonalds just after dark, when a black and white cat ran across the road and it was close this time. I called his name and the cat actually stopped and looked at me for quite awhile. I know it was familiar to him, but he ran under a bush and watched me from there. I was at a turn in the road and unable to stay in that spot, I had to move on. I called the cats name again and threw a Chicken McNugget near the bush he went behind. I was very happy because I'm almost sure it was him. Now, I just need to figure out how to get him back. I worried that someone else may have taken him in which would make it more difficult, but then I reasoned, that they probably wouldn't let him stay out at night with it being in the teens. I think the little boy has gone feral. I think he somehow got too far away from our block and couldn't find his way back. Now I just have to come up with a way to get him back home before we do lose him for good!
