No; Really!

I am always looking for new ways to save money. Years ago, when I was a young, single parent, I read books, magazines, anything I could find on saving money. In doing so, I've come across A LOT of tips for stretching a buck. Some of them pretty absurd. Well, today I was reminded of an old one, and introduced to a new money-saving tip. The first one was that thing about smooshing the toilet paper roll so it won't come off easily. This is usually meant to prevent kids from pulling too much off and wasting it. The back and forth motion of a smooshed toilet paper roll would slow the pulling for an impatient kid, preventing him or her from pulling off more than necessary. My comment to that is, why not train the kid not to pull so much off and show him how he/she can wipe himself in a more practical manner with less paper?
The new tip I heard today was about potato chips, and how you can put them in the oven to make them 'fresh' again. WTF!!! Okay, these are potato chips we're talking about here! Maybe I'd go along with that idea if these were very expensive, imported, organically grown in flakes of gold, kettle cooked, one chip at a time, potato chips, but please! Also, if I were going to go to the trouble of putting potatoes chips in the oven to bake on a low heat until fresh again, I think I'd opt for actually using a real whole potatoes!
Someone once told me, that if you stored your potato chips in the freezer, they'd last longer and stay fresh as the dat you put the there!  NOT!!! Ii actually tried that one with a fresh bag of chps I had brought home from the UTZ factory. Not only did it not work, but I could no longer enjoy my chips because the freezing and thawing made them soft and damp. And what's a chip without a crunch!
   So beware the impractical tip!
