Day 10

So I mentioned that I was reading John Chow's Make Money Online. John Chow is a 'dot com mogul.' His book gives advice on you one can follow in his footsteps to successfully make money online the way he did. I'm only in the beginning chapters, but so far most of his advice would be no great surprise to anyone who is very experienced in blogging, reading blogs, or generally spending a great deal of time online. Whats interesting is his own history of how he was able to make it big and offer his own perspective on things. Everyone has a uniqueness, and adding that uniqueness and ones own personal spin or perspective on things is what gives them an edge in the blogging world.
Well, this advice is all well and fine, but what got to me was in the 4th chapter, entitled 'Ten Essential Blogging Tips,' where at least a good couple of paragraphs is spent on emphasizing the importance of checking your writing for errors, double and triple checking, not relying on spell check alone; I had already run across 6 to 10 errors already! Oh, well, since the guy is already a millionaire, making $30-$40,000 a month from his websites, he doesn't totally lose credibility. In fact, I guess I can look at it as though it makes him more 'human' and down to earth. Makes it even more possible for me to succeed.
In fact, the more I read about people who've made online blogging work for them, the more I feel its doable and may help me out if I stick with it.

While I'd like to make enough money online to help me stop living paycheck to paycheck and eliminate my debt, allowing me to get the much needed home repairs I've been putting off, I'd also be happy to at least earn enough to help me out every month with paying for the care and feeding of all these animals.
People ask how many cats we have and I'm always embarrassed to tell the exact number. I don't want to be accused of being a hoarder but by definition I guess I am. I don't want to be a hoarder and it was never my intention of having so many animals, AND we are still trying to find homes for these litters the original cats had. We don't go out looking for additional cats but I do feel a responsibility towards cats in the area that I think could possibly have come from litters my cats may have had outside before we knew of the pregnancies. Another thing that I've been working on is getting them all fixed while waiting for homes for them. It was costing close to $100 for each female cat but now that Falls Road Animal Hospital has made spay and neutering affordable, it has become more of a reality. Thank goodness for them, it is so hard to find a place that will actually help without criticizing you in the process. I've got 3 of the older kittens scheduled to get fixed this week. They'll also need shots so I'm not sure how much it will come to but I think I'll have to wait another few weeks before I take more to get fixed. I'm just happy now that I am able to make progress in some shape and form!
